As of the census of 2000, there were 476 people, 188 households, and 144 families residing in the town. The population density was 354.4 people per square mile (137.2/km²). There were 202 housing units at an average density of 150.4 per square mile (58.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.53% White, 1.26% African American and 0.21% Native American.
There were 188 households out of which 34.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.4% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% were non-families. 22.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
